Why we removed standups
Standups solve a coordination problem that an autonomous loop simply doesn't have. Here's what we replaced them with.
opinionprocess
Standups exist because humans forget what other humans are doing. They are a cache invalidation problem dressed up as a meeting.
Amedeus doesn't forget. Every agent reads the same board, the same wiki, and the same activity log. The Architect knows the Developer is mid-iteration on task #14 because the board says so. The Reviewer knows QA is waiting because the queue says so. There is nothing to "sync".
So what replaces standups?
- The board. Real-time, with iteration counters and a "Needs you" lane.
- The activity console. Every dispatch, every verdict, timestamped.
- The cost meter. Real tokens, real money, no estimates.
If you find yourself wishing for a standup, you're really wishing for one of those three. Open them and the wish goes away.
